About the role

As Quality Manager, based in our Vårgårda facility, you will play a key role in ensuring our products consistently meet the highest quality and safety standards, driving customer satisfaction and fostering continuous improvement. You will lead quality initiatives, compliance strategies, and innovation projects, collaborating closely with our Production, Sales, and Product Development teams. In this role, you will also lead and develop the Quality Assurance team, including QA Assistants and Shift Quality Controllers. The role is part of the local Management team, reporting directly to the Factory Director. You will also have a dotted line to the Quality Director of PPF.

Your Main Responsibilities:

Drive and implement PPF Quality Standards to secure product excellence and compliance.
Champion a quality-first mindset and foster a strong food safety and quality culture throughout the factory.
Collaborate with European teams to contribute to the European Quality Strategy.
Ensure full compliance with national and international food safety and quality regulations.
Develop and execute training programs to elevate quality awareness across the organization.
Work cross-functionally with Production and Product Development to maintain food safety, monitor hygiene, and support new product launches.
Support the Sales Team by managing customer data inputs, certifications, and audits.
Analyze and improve quality performance using the Quality Scorecard, setting action plans for continuous improvement.
Lead investigations into quality complaints, non-quality costs, and crisis situations, implementing preventive measures.
Manage supplier audits and ensure that all ingredients and processes meet our high standards.


Your Background

University degree in Food Processing, Hygiene, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in quality assurance or continuous improvement within the food industry.
Proven leadership experience with at least 2 years of team management.
Fluency in English (verbal and written) – Swedish is a plus!


We are looking for a structured and responsible leader with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as a proactive approach to quality management. You work well in a collaborative environment, supporting teams in driving improvements and maintaining high standards.

With strong communication skills, you will contribute to a quality-focused culture while ensuring compliance and continuous development. Your ability to analyze and refine processes, combined with attention to detail, will help maintain and enhance product quality. As a leader, you will guide and develop your team, fostering competence and long-term improvements in quality management.

What will you do - Responsibilities:
Quality Assurance
Assure that physical, visual & hygiene checks have been performed, in line with standards, specifications and related actions are taken properly to ship the products to market
Collect and send finished goods samples for Quality Assurance Performance (QAP) and global IMI
Process and analyze consumer complaints, DMRs (Defective Material Reports) and follow up aligned actions including those coming from QUIPs (Quality Unsure Inspected Products procedure)


Quality Control
Collect and analyze production and process control data, initiate and coordinate continuous improvement activities for product quality
Attend test runs and start-ups and collect robust data from tests/trials as a foundation for documentation and decision-making
Control and maintain the QME (Quality Measurement Equipment) including function checks to ensure product quality, and coordination of calibrations according to plan. Arrange and follow up maintenance if needed


Training & Development and Recruitment
Planning and executing all quality-related training for production personnel and other stakeholders
Assess training needs and develop training materials
Establish and maintain Quality Standard Operating Procedures in different parts of the organization in line with the requirements of ISO 9001
Recruit new Quality Control Operators


Management of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Ensure maintenance and continuous improvement of Quality Information System regarding product quality and process capability data
Execute Quality improvement activities to meet or exceed Quality KPI targets


Who are we looking for - Requirements:
Engineering Bachelor's degree or equivalent gained experience in the food industry
Initial experience working in food production and quality
English fluently written and spoken
Swedish will be an advantage
Good knowledge of MS Office, QIMS and SAP

The global supply chain organization is responsible for purchasing and supplier quality activities in early product development and application projects for new business areas and markets. Furthermore, the organization provides logistics competence in early development phases and drives global process development for advanced supply chain activities to capture expanded opportunities for innovation. We are now searching for a Quality (Q) / Supplier Quality (SQ) Development Manager for the mobility safety area.


Assignments:
As Q/SQ Development Manager for MSS you will ensure development of the supply base for the mobility safety areas in line with related quality system requirements. Being the global representative for supplier quality for MSS you will promote a quality culture and a proactive involvement of supplier quality competences in product development phases for our new business areas.


Your main responsibilities:
Explore and secure quality system knowledge and compliance in new MSS Business areas.
Provide supplier quality competence in business development phases.
Ensure supplier quality validations for MSS projects.
Quality and Lean development for new MSS suppliers.
Perform relevant supplier quality audits on new MSS suppliers.
Work shoulder to shoulder with our segment responsibilities in Supplier Quality and Purchasing to ensure a sustainable and competitive supply base.
Drive quality projects and assignments within the Global Innovation Center.
Represent SQ for the mobility safety area in global networks and forums for Advanced development.



Travels will be required.


In your assignment you will work in a global context reporting to the Corporate Director for Supplier Quality in Autoliv. You will work closely together with the Global Supply Chain Innovation team located in Vårgårda Sweden headed by Autoliv Global Supply Chain Innovation Manager.

About Autoliv:
Autoliv, Inc. is the worldwide leader in automotive safety systems, and through our subsidiaries we develop, manufacture and market protective systems, such as airbags, seatbelts, steering wheels and pedestrian protection systems for all major automotive manufacturers in the world. Our products save over 30,000 lives each year and prevent ten times as many severe injuries. In Sweden we are located in Vårgårda, with a satellite office at Lindholmen, focusing on RDE activities within airbags, seatbelts and our newly established area Mobility Safety Solutions. We have strong testing capabilities with several labs and crash tracks as well as a highly automated production where we produce inflators and special products.


Qualifications for the position:
The position requires a bachelor’s degree in Engineering or other related area, as well as broad knowledge in quality system management. You have a good ability to lead and drive tasks and to collaborate with others, both in a strategic and in a project context.


Required qualifications:
Technical background.
Experience in Quality Systems, Plant Quality, Supplier Quality or other Supply Chain Management roles.
Minimum 10 years of working experience.
IATF 16949 and other industry standards.
Experience in international teamwork
Problem solving and project management.



Preferable qualifications:
Master degree in mechanical engineering
