About the Opportunity – Electrical Engineering in HVDC/MVDC Systems
We are searching for a motivated Electrical Engineer in HVDC and MVDC systems. In this important role, you will support the development, implementation, and optimization of our advanced electrical power solutions, ensuring reliability, efficiency, and safety for our customers and society.
Key Responsibilities – Electrical Engineer
As Electrical Engineer you will be part of a newly created team based in Vårgårda. You will work on HVDC/MVDC applications that protect systems producing, storing, and converting electricity. These systems include energy transmission stations, converter stations, energy storage systems, and more, both for medium- and high-voltage requirements.
You and your team will be responsible for designing advanced Switchgears that protect other equipment in the system. Given the need for rapid closing or opening of electrical circuits, our pyrotechnical solution is key. You will participate in the electrical part of the design and development of these switches, ensuring their safety, reliability, and compliance with industry standards from an electrical perspective.
You will focus on driving innovation and advancing the products and solutions, working across all stages of the product lifecycle—from concept through deployment.
Your role will also involve in-depth development in your specialized area, continuously advancing HVDC/MVDC Switchgear technology.
Qualifications and Skills – HVDC/MVDC Electrical Engineering
Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or a related field.
Knowledge of power electronics, control systems, and electrical safety standards (such as IEC, IEEE, or equivalent).
Hands-on experience with simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink, PSCAD) and electrical CAD software.
Analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

You will join as a Development Engineer (HMI) in a team that aims to perform Advanced Engineering Studies within the mechatronics area. We are working with innovation in its early phases by evaluating new ideas and creating early concepts to test them.
You will mainly work on preparing, conducting and analyzing results from user studies. This could involve everything from how the next generation steering devices will look like, to more hands-on evaluations about our current products. As we are a broad and multidisciplinary team, that together aim to construct and evaluate early concepts, you will have room to grow and learn from others.
About you

When conducting idea evaluations, the input to the team is ideas, and the output is a recommendation. The tools used are rapid prototyping to enable quick iterations and ensure an efficient and robust workflow. The tools involve increased technical complexity and systems engineering.

About the role
We are looking for a skilled mechanical development engineer. This role will lead global development projects in the Seat Belt area. We work in cross functional teams with members from different countries / regions. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in leading development projects in Seat Belt / Retractorarea. Many development projects have a portion of mechatronic / electronic content.
Focus on early development phases, where innovation, open minded mindset, and afail-fast approach is vital, based on solid experience from current products knowledge, production methods, and requirements.

Lead global development projects in the Seat Belt (Retractor) area.

About you
Relevant educational background (Engineering)
>5 years’ experience in leading product development in the mechanical engineering area
Minimum of one project followed from early idea creation phase to production launch.
Deep knowledge in one of the following fields: Material properties, High volume manufacturing (supplier processes), or high-volume assembly methods combined with general knowledge in the other fields.
Proven record of leading a team that delivers seat belt solutions.
Ability to inspire and motivate team members to achieve their best.
Knowledge ofElectronic / Mechatronic is a merit.
Fluent in English, both verbally and in writing. Swedish language skills are a merit.
You also need to be able to travel.

In Sweden we host the companys Innovation Center, located in Vårgårda. Our focus is on developing new and existing products, both in our core areas such as airbags and seatbelts but also in the Mobility Safety Solutions area. We do this in cross-functional teams and in close cooperation with Research, whichis also located on site. We have unique testing and prototype facilities.
In Vårgårda, we also produce inflators and special products such as hood lifters and child seats. In total we have approx. 400 employees.

About the role
As an Embedded Machine Learning Engineer, you will work with industrialization of machine learning models in embedded environments. This includes being a part of the team developing the embedded systems, as well as integration and optimization of machine learning models, interaction with project stakeholders, and integration of machine learning models into the embedded target software environment.
You will work in a small team responsible for building a toolbox for this. The team will own the bootstrapping of projects, as well as building the frameworks that will be used to accelerate the time from a prototype to a product in the hands of a user.
The team will be a central part in the machine learning strategy in the global context that is Autoliv. You will work in an international team together with teams from all over the world.
You will work with languages such as C, C++, and Python using frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, and TFLite. All of this on embedded target ranging from smaller Linux systems down to embedded microcontrollers in environments such as Linux, bare-metal MCUs, and AUTOSAR stacks. The code is kept in git and we automate our testing and integration using Azure DevOps.

Som HSE har du en övergripande roll där du stöttar verksamheten i arbetsmiljö och miljöfrågor och därmed främjar devisen ”Safety Always”. About the role
You develop and maintain a global understanding of the external requirements landscape and policy changes, with a particular focus on new mobility and new technologies and assess their impact on our current and future products and services. You are part of the Research function, but collaborate closely with other global functions, as well as with Autoliv’s regional divisions, in order to develop engagement strategies and build relationships with our key external stakeholders. As a key person in the Governmental Affairs function you oversee the work of cross-functional internal teams of regulation and ratings specialists in designated areas and ensure alignment with strategies and priorities.
Furthermore, a significant portion of your job is to manage strategic governmental affairs initiatives, strategic investigations, and coordinate external partnerships and collaborative platforms. You may participate in relevant external working groups as a representative for Autoliv. You are expected to maintain an effective dialogue with policymakers and other key stakeholders to ensure Autoliv´s interests are represented and maintains its strong reputation as a relevant and credible partner. About you

Your main responsibilities as Development Manager Supply Chain Innovation:
Lead and drive global projects and development initiatives connected to innovation and advanced development. Ensure successful development, piloting and global implementation.
Continuously identify and benchmark ideas and development opportunities improving strategies, KPIs, processes, and tools supporting our supply chain and supplier/partner involvement in product and process development for innovation.

Autoliv Research is looking for a Research Specialist in Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) with a focus on Human Body Modelling for Vulnerable Road User Protection. Research at Autoliv is a global function, involving activities and colleagues world-wide, while run from Vårgårda in Sweden. Assignment
As Simulation Research Specialist within the Autoliv research team you are defining needs, assessing and helping to industrialize the virtual tools needed to evaluate safety systems for Vulnerable Road Users (VRUs; i.e. motorcyclists, cyclists, pedestrians and other forms of new mobility) and ensuring their usefulness and proper use. You are expected to become the leading expert within Autoliv globally on the use of the SAFER Human Body Model (HBM) for VRU protection and to work in collaborative projects to develop the HBM at the whole-body and component level for kinematics and injury prediction.


You will also develop evaluation matrices (Design of Experiments) to define which simulations needs to be run and which HBM measures need to be evaluated to ensure real-world safety system effectiveness; thereby contributing to the development of repeatable and meaningful full-scale and component tests in hardware.


You will have several different interactions and collaborations. You will be working in close collaboration with the Biomechanics Specialist for VRU protection as well as the simulation team in Research and the Global Innovation Center. You will also collaborate with other research teams such as Accident Research, Test & Innovation, and Regulation & Rating as well as with the product development teams.


Your work typically leads to processes and procedures to evaluate VRU safety in simulation, identifying needs for model improvement and managing model changes, product ideas and associated patents, and test methods suitable for regulation and NCAPs.




Qualifications

As a Specialist at Autoliv Research, you produce accurate results within a short time. You carry out thorough validation of your results to guarantee their accuracy. You document your work in reports and presentations and communicate your research internally as well as outside Autoliv such as to project partners, in working groups and at conferences. You typically author several scientific publications per year. You can work as an individual contributor and in cross-functional teams.


As a Specialist we expect you to guide and lead colleagues and supervise thesis workers. You develop expertise in new areas by yourself. You create, scope, and lead research projects involving multiple contributors, i.e. ensure that quality, time and budget plans are fulfilled.


On a formal level you have a PhD degree in Science or Engineering and a sound body of peer-reviewed publications. The position also requires you to have relevant work experience in CAE, preferably in LS-DYNA, including pre-processor and post-processor experience. Knowledge on MATLAB or similar software, anatomy, injuries and road traffic injury causes, human motion as a VRU and crash testing procedures is valuable.


The position requires you to be able to communicate fluently in English; additional language skills are a merit.

Assignments:
As Project SQ you work primarily with ensuring the quality of new or changed parts in feasibility studies, development, application and serial life projects. Together with purchasing, the task is to work to prevent quality deficiencies in pre-development and ongoing production at suppliers. You apply quality methods as PPAP, 8D, FMEA, control plans, herringbone diagrams and "5-why" to verify corrective measures at the supplier. In the event of ongoing changes, you are involved in feasibility reviews, drawing release and in the end you are responsible for signing an approved PPAP from the supplier. You proactively work with auditing suppliers. Together we work for improved standardized working methods and control methods.

Arbetsuppgifter

Initialt förväntas du ta en aktiv del i att forma nya agila arbetssätt för att driva denna form av projekt, samtidigt som du säkerställer att alla krav möts. Kvalifikationer

As a Biomechanics Research Specialist within the Autoliv research team you are guiding and supporting the product development team in the design of new life-saving products. This includes identifying issues in the current transportation system as areas for intervention from accident data and other sources as well as developing ideas for technical solutions and establishing test and assessment methods to prove their value. You will be working in close collaboration with other research teams such as Accident Research, Test & Innovation and Regulation & Rating as well as with the different global development teams. Your work typically leads to strategy papers, product ideas, and test methods suitable for regulation and NCAPs.

As a Specialist at Autoliv Research, you produce accurate results within short time. You carry out thorough validation of your results to guarantee accuracy. You document your work in reports and presentations and communicate internally as well as externally such as to project partners, in working groups and at conferences. You typically author several scientific publications per year.

As a Specialist we expect you to guide and lead colleagues and supervise thesis workers. You develop expertise in new areas by yourself. You create, scope, and lead research projects involving multiple contributors, i.e. ensure that quality, time and budget plans are fulfilled.
